Stairs

Up until this week, Madelyn showed little interest in our stairs. The other day, however, she tried climbing a couple of stairs for the first time. Today, she scaled our entire staircase unassisted (but well supervised, of course). She is fearless! Guess it's time to buy a gate or two.

The other day I showed Madelyn the video featured in the last post.  She responded with such excitement that I had to try to capture it on film.  Although this reaction was to a second showing, and her exuberance was somewhat diminished, it was still pretty amusing to see her enjoy watching herself on the screen.

A New Friend

This morning we met our newest friend, baby Lucy.  She is a beautiful little girl, and quite well-adjusted for only being out in the world for 24 hours.  Madelyn had a blast during our visit, although she didn't seem to notice the baby much.  When Lucy is old enough to interact more, I think the two little ones will enjoy playing together.  We determined that, down the road, they will be in the same grade in school, Madelyn on the older end, and Lucy on the younger.  What a blessing to celebrate new life!
