Nine Months

S.U.P.

Last week Tyler and I discovered our new favorite hobby - Stand Up Paddleboarding.  The family rented a couple of boards while we are at the beach and, although it was a hard workout, we had a blast paddling along the shore.  After trying it out, we envisioned the fun we'd have getting up on a board in the Charles River or on Walden Pond.  Unfortunately, we learned that decent boards are pretty pricey (around $1200!). Guess we better start saving!

Stormy Weather

One afternoon while we were at the beach, some heavy thunderstorms moved through our area.  An afternoon storm in southern Georgia in and of itself is not an unusual occurrence.  However, this system also brought with it an act of nature many people had not witnessed before -- a water spout.  Here are a few shots I snapped before we had to retreat indoors.

Family Portraits

Since Tyler was a child, during most summers his extended family has spent a week together at the beach.  In recent years, the destination has been St. Simon's Island, a lovely spot off the coast of southern Georgia.  This year's get-together marked Madelyn's first time to participate.  Tyler's mom (a.k.a Nanny) suggested that we have an informal photo shoot including Tyler's parents, his brother and his family, and our little trio.  One of Tyler's cousins was dubbed the photographer for the occasion, and below you'll find some of the results.  Overall, a pretty good-looking group of people!
