Kick and Play
Madelyn has another favorite toy -- the Kick and Play. She loves tapping the keys with her feet and playing with the animals that hang around her. She also likes to smile at the reflection of herself in the round blue mirror above her head.

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling
Madelyn rolled over for the first time on Friday! Although we did not catch it on video, we were able to snap a few photos.

Love Bug
Madelyn received many wonderful presents during her first Christmas. One gift has become her new favorite (or maybe first favorite) toy -- the Love Bug. With its bright colors, muted jingling sound, and combination of textures, it's no wonder that she loves it!
Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!
Although it has been a mild winter across the country thus far, we did enjoy a beautiful snow during our stay at Amanda's parents' home in the mountains of North Carolina. Here are a few shots from their porch.

Meeting the Family
After two months of great anticipation, Tyler's extended family finally had the opportunity to meet Madelyn the week after Christmas. Tyler's parents invited family members to drop in during the course of one day. Here are a few photos from the big event.

Christmas Day 2011
This year, because Christmas was on a Sunday, we began the day by worshiping with our congregation in Cambridge. After the service, we headed to the airport to fly south and visit both sides of the family. Madelyn did a great job on her first airplane trip.
When we arrived at our destination, Madelyn's Uncle Tyler picked us up from the airport, and we made our trek to Amanda's parents' home in the mountains. After a long day of travel, we enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner. Then, we changed into pajamas and had our Christmas morning gift exchange... at 9:30 p.m. As Tyler said, it finally felt like Christmas when were able to celebrate with family.

Community Group Christmas
Tyler and I lead a community group through our church that meets every week. The Monday before Christmas we celebrated with a pot of chili, a viewing of the new holiday classic, Elf, and a Christmas cookie decorating extravaganza. We had a great time eating, laughing, and enjoying one another's company.
